The Furnace: a glassworks provides major glassworks installation for
Denver’s Guard & Grace Steakhouse Restaurant
The Furnace, an acclaimed wholesale glass design, manufacturing and installation studio, created a large, vibrant glassworks installation for the launch of Denver's Guard & Grace Steakhouse Restaurant. The furnace created a stunning installation of over 150 hand-blown glass cylinders for the entry room, offering a golden glow that perfectly complements Guard & Grace’s elegant, softly curving space and warm, organic color palettes.

“We were delighted to create the new installation for Guard & Grace, and to contribute to the impact of their stunningly designed space,” comments Corey Silverman, Co-Founder of The Furnace - a glassworks. “ The glassworks installation is suspended in front of the highly visible wine area, and was designed to echo and intensify the shine and glow of all of the glass in the area.

“It was an intensive project, but also ultimately very rewarding,” adds Silverman. “We were excited to contribute to a terrific new restaurant, and were especially happy that both KTI and Guard & Grace were so happy with the outcome.” From concept meetings to installation, the entire project took place from mid September 2013 to the end of February, 2014.

C&H Glassworks custom installation of hand-sculpted glass Christmas tree display
in the Palladian window of the Neiman Marcus store in Dallas, Texas
C&H completed a major installation project in the winter of 2013, creating a glass and metal Christmas tree for Lonnie Hanzon, for the “Palladian” window of the Neiman Marcus flagship store in Dallas, Texas in December of 2013. “We were honored to have been chosen for the Nieman Marcus installation,” comments Silverman. “Hanzon has been working with Nieman Marcus for 25 years on their holiday window displays, and his name is synonymous with extravagant and other worldly installations and art displays.”

The Nieman Marcus project required approximately 375 hand-sculpted starbursts of clear glass (ranging from four to 16 inches in width), and was installed for public viewing in Dallas from December 1, 2013 to January 1, 2014. Viewing the Palladian window is an annual holiday tradition for many locals in Dallas.

These sculptures have been added to the Nieman Marcus permanent collection.

Colorado Creates Glass Art Exhibit at the Foothills Art Center in Colorado
Appollo's Journey (pictured below) custom installation by C&H Glassworks
This exhibition highlighted the skills and accomplishments of Colorado glass artists.
Corey Silverman and Horace Marlowe (owners of C&H Glassworks) assisted in curating this show and helped in hand picking the artists that were invited to display their work. The art of blowing, lampworking, cold working or casting glass requires not only skill, but many years of apprenticeship and practice to perfect. The artists presented in Colorado Creates Glass represented many, but certainly not all, the outstanding glass artists in Colorado.   Exhibition Dates  March 17 – May 15, 2015

C&H Glassworks custom installation of "Mod Cocoons"
for the dining area of the Mariposa Restaurant in Beverly Hills, California
Acclaimed Colorado glass design, manufacturing and installation studio C&H Glassworks created a stunning, high-end glassworks installation designed by Lonnie Hanzon of Hanzon Studios, for luxury department store Nieman Marcus in Beverly Hills. Entitled “CRYSTALIS,” the glassworks installation was created especially for Nieman Marcus (for the restaurant Mariposa) at its gorgeously renovated Beverly Hills location at 9700 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California.

The sculptural ‘Mod Cocoons’ of CRYSTALIS envelop two seating areas in Mariposa’s stunning new renovated space.  The cocoons incorporate over 1,000 pieces of fine, meticulously hand-blown glass by C&H Glassworks for the project – and over 8,000 components in all.

The final installation features clear, pure glass ‘beads’ curtaining the booths and the effect is truly stunning, a symphony of light and glass surrounding the diners.” The hand-crafted beads are created from molten glass, with each bead individually shaped to enhance its beauty, impact and fluidity. A supportive network of stainless steel cable, bars and fittings, Lucite and vinyl spacers, and various chrome parts then transform the beads into a striking backdrop for dining and conversation.
